Large Koi Pond 2010

Our 1000 gallon koi pond showing the fish feeding and pond plants that keep the water clear. Almost a year later after construction, koi thriving and no algae. It could have been larger but it was our first time building a pond on this scale. Next, I think I am going to design a labyrinth of above ground retangular boxes which will require learning about masonary. This was an educational process were we learned about skimmers, pumps, filtering systems, excavating, surveying, and the hobby of rasing koi. Just goes to show you never know until you try.
