Iris versicolor “Purple Water Iris
The Purple Iris provides thick, bladed foliage and violet-blue blossoms through the summer, mainly May thru July. It is also referred to as the Harlequin Blue Flag and the Blue Flag Iris, but the color of the flowers is pale purple. This plant is very hardy and thrives in the pond margin environment. Its thick, tuberous roots are easily divided to propogate new plants.
