pH UP works by slowly neutralizing some of the acidic substances that cause low pH in pond water. It's important to test the pH when using pH UP in the pond. pH should be raised no more than .5 units every 24 hours. Do not treat the pond more than once every 24 hours. Plants and algae cause a temporary increase in pH in the afternoon, therefore, pH should be tested in the morning to obtain the most accurate reading. pH is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of water. A pH reading of 7.0 is neutral. A pH higher than 7.0 is alkaline and a pH lower than 7.0 is acidic. Pond fish and plants are accustomed to natural pH fluctuations that occur in all ponds. However, extreme pH levels must be avoided. A pH range between 6.8 and 7.5 is acceptable. 7.0 is ideal. Acid rain, mineral leaching, soil run-off decomposing plant and animal waste can contribute to the unacceptable pH levels in he pond. Some tap water used to fill the pond can cause extreme pH levels. Use Pond Care pH UP to raise pH in garden ponds. Dosage: Determine the pH of the pond by testing. Using the enclosed measuring cup, add 2 teaspoonsful of pH UP for each 50 gallons of pond water. Carefully mix desired dose with 2 gallons of pond water in a plastic bucket and distribute evenly around the perimeter of the pond. Wait 24 hours and then test pH again.

Directins: Using the measuring cup, add 1 tsp for every 50 gallons of pond water. Mix this dose in a bucket with 2 gallons of pond water and distribute evenly around the perimeter of the pond. Wait 24 hours, test pH again and repeat treatment as necessary.
